Govt publishes partial list of 1,47,537 freedom fighters

The government today published a partial list of freedom fighters, containing 1,47,537 names.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque also published a partial list of martyred intellectuals who lost their lives at the hands of Pakistani army and their collaborators during the country's Liberation War. The list contains 191 names of the martyred intellectuals.

The minister revealed the names during a press briefing today.

AKM Mozammel Haque said that both lists will be uploaded on the ministry's website.

The final list of freedom fighters will be published by June 30 after further scrutiny of the list of the freedom fighters who are getting allowances.

"With this final list, we hope that confusion regarding the freedom fighters' list will end," Mozammel said. He also added it is implied that all other lists will be cancelled when the final list will be made public.
