Hours after dissolving central committee, Hefajat announces convening committee

Hours after dissolving its central committee, Hefajat-e-Islam announced a five-member convening committee.
Secretary General of the dissolved committee Nurul Islam Jihadi announced the convening committee in a video message early today.
Muhibullah Babunagari was named the chief adviser of the convening committee. He held the same post in the central committee.

Junaid Babunagari, who was amir of the dissolved committee, was also named in the same post in the new committee.
Nurul Islam Jihadi announced himself as the secretary general of the convening committee.
Besides, Salah Uddin Nanupuri and Principal Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury were made members in the convening committee.
According to Hefajat sources "the five leaders in the convening committee are known as non-political leaders who have no direct involvement with any political party."
In the video message, Nurul Islam Jihadi said Junayed Babunagari had asked him to announce the convening committee.
He also said that the five-member committee will soon announce the full convening committee of Hefajat-e-Islam, a Qawmi-madrasa based Islamist outfit.
At around 11:30pm last night, Junayed Babunagari in a video message from Hathazari Madrasa in Chattogram announced that the 249-member Hefajat central committee has been dissolved.
