Little wheels, indomitable spirit

The small, improvised three-wheeler on a busy Dhaka street and its buff rider are sure to turn heads.

Syed Ali does not have legs. Wearing a cap and yellow jersey, he pedals his special vehicle with hands and commutes around the city to sell herbal medicine. Ali, the lone earner, bears the expenses of his family -- wife, a daughter and a son.

Asked about the curious looking three-wheeler, Ali, hailing from Bogura, said that he developed it based on his needs and had some help.
