NID services should be under Election Commission: CEC

NID services should be entrusted to the Election Commission, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda said today.

If not, the NID services may face some problems, the CEC said while talking to journalists at EC Bhaban, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

He said the government held no discussion with the EC over entrusting the NID services to the Ministry of Home Affairs' Security Service Division instead of the Election Commission.

Recently, the commission received a letter in this regard, the CEC said.

Earlier in the day, the officials and employees of the commission met with the CEC and said that the NID services should be under the EC.
