The government has extended the ongoing countrywide restriction on public movement and transport till June 16 amid a surge in the Covid-19 cases.

The Cabinet Division today issued a gazette notification in this regard.

According to the notification, the government has prohibited gatherings at tourist spots, resorts and community centres during the period.

It has asked not to hold any social, political and religious programmes to avert public gatherings.

Restaurants can serve food at half capacity between 6am to 10pm and also provide takeaway and online services.

After discussing with the concerned committees, the deputy commissioners of high-risk districts will take necessary measures to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Public transports, including inter-districts buses, will carry passengers at half capacity, maintaining health rules.

The government has asked all the authorities concerned to take proper measures in this regard.
