If the government resumes public transport from April 29 after the ongoing lockdown ends, Bangladesh Railway (BR) will also resume their passenger train services from that day.

"Railway is a part of public transport. If public transport resumes [after April 28], we will resume train services. We have the preparation," Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan told The Daily Star today.

Like other public transports, BR suspended passenger train services from April 5, when the government imposed restrictions on public movement and transport. However, BR continued operations of freight trains and special parcel services.
