Planning Minister MA Mannan today directed the officials concerned to highlight the errors and inaccuracies in the report of Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) under the ministry.

The minister gave the directives on behalf of the prime minister at a function in Dhaka before starting the work of evaluation through outsourcing organisations on 30 ongoing and completed projects.

He said questions have been raised about the efficiency and quality of project implementation. "Value for money. Because the money is not mine, not the government's. It is the people's money."

"People have given us money from their hard-earned income. We have to utilise it properly," Mannan said. "We expect a fair and impartial review. The prime minister also wants to know."
