Swadhinata Padak: Govt picks 9 persons, 1 organisation

The government has finalised the names of nine noted personalities and one organisation to be honoured with the Swadhinata Padak-2021 in recognition of their outstanding contribution at the national level.

The cabinet department of the government issued a press release in this regard today.

AKM Bazlur Rahman, Ahsan Ullah Master, Freedom Fighter Brig Gen Khurshid Uddin Ahmed and Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu were posthumously nominated for the award for their contribution to the country's Independence and Liberation War.

Other than that, Dr Mrinmoy Guha Niyogi has been nominated for his contribution to science and technology, Mahadev Saha for literature, Ataur Rahman and Gazi Mazharul Anwar for culture and Professor M Amzad Hossain was nominated for social and public service.

The Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council has been nominated for research and training.
