On the second day of the weeklong "complete lockdown", traffic jam was witnessed on Airport Road.

Traffic congestion formed in front of Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden hotel around 7:45am, which spilled on to the Airport Road later.

Law enforcers stopped each and every vehicle at the police check post in front of the hotel and asked the passengers the reason behind their movement, which created a long tailback.

A traffic policeman, seeking anonymity, told The Daily Star that the road witnessed traffic jam as many offices are open today.

They received instruction from the higher authorities to check each and every vehicle plying the streets, he said.

All commuters had valid reasons for going out. Some said they were going to office, some were going for vaccination, he said, adding that some of the commuters identified themselves as health workers.
