Truck-autorickshaw collision on Pabna-Rajshahi highway leaves 1 dead, 3 injured

A man was killed and three others were critically injured in a collision between a truck and a CNG-run autorickshaw at Muladuli area of Pabna-Rajshahi highway today.

A man was killed and three others were critically injured in a collision between a truck and a CNG-run autorickshaw at Muladuli area of Pabna-Rajshahi highway today.

The deceased was identified as Salam Hossain Selu (56), said Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Pakshi Highway Police to The Daily Star. The accident took place near the Muladuli Bazar when a Natore bound truck collided with a CNG-run autorikshaw coming from the opposite direction, leaving the autorickshaw driver dead on the spot, he said.

Among the injured, CNG-run autorickshaw passengers Mina Begum (40), her daughter Rumi (15) were admitted in Ishwardi Upazlia Health Complex and Md Sojib (20) was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Moniruzzaman added.

Police seized the truck and the auto rickshaw from the spot but the truck driver fled from the scenario, said our correspondent.
