Al-Arafah Islami Bank organises school banking conference in Khulna

Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC recently organised a “School Banking Conference” as the lead bank at the Tiger Garden International Hotel in Khulna, aiming to build a savings habit among students.

Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC recently organised a "School Banking Conference" as the lead bank at the Tiger Garden International Hotel in Khulna, aiming to build a savings habit among students.

Students from 45 institutions participated in the daylong conference, which was organised under the guidance of Bangladesh Bank, with the participation of 49 scheduled banks working in the district.

Md Sawkatul Alam, executive director of the Bangladesh Bank Khulna office, attended the programme as the chief guest, according to a press release.

Mohammad Ullah, executive vice-president and head of the Khulna zone of Al-Arafah Islami Bank, presided over the conference, where SM Kamaluzzaman Kamal, director of the Bangladesh Bank Khulna office, was present as a special guest.

The bank organised a quiz competition and awarded students with school bags and gift items during the latter part of the event.

Md Iqbal Mohsin, director of the financial inclusion department of the central bank; Sheikh Sahriar Rahman and Jahanara Khatun, additional directors of the Bangladesh Bank Khulna office; Md Shamsul Haque, district education officer; and M Abul Bashar Molla, principal of Khulna Collectorate School and College, were also present.

AKM Amjad Hossain and Md Ferdous Hassan, executive vice-presidents of the bank; and Sheikh Asadul Haque, senior assistant vice-president, along with managers, senior officers of the participating banks, teachers, and students from various institutions in the district, were also present.
