Prime Bank declares 20% dividends for 2024

Prime Bank PLC announced 20 percent dividends, including a 17.50 cash dividend, for the year 2024.

Prime Bank PLC announced 20 percent dividends, including a 17.50 cash dividend, for the year 2024.

The announcement was made at the bank's board meeting held at its head office in Dhaka today, according to a press release.

The dividend declaration reflects the bank's commitment to delivering sustainable financial results to its shareholders while maintaining a strong financial position.

The board of directors also adopted the annual audited financial statements at the same meeting.

The bank posted a 54 percent growth in net profit after tax (NPAT) compared to the previous year. The standalone NPAT was recorded at Tk 745 crore in 2024, up from Tk 484 crore in 2023.

Earnings per share stood at Tk 6.58, compared to Tk 4.27 in the corresponding period last year.

The net asset value per share and net operating cash flow per share were recorded at Tk 34.27 and Tk 3.06, respectively.

The bank's total assets stood at Tk 54,812 crore at the end of December 2024. Prime Bank's capital to risk-weighted assets ratio stood at 17.37 percent, one of the highest in the banking industry, as stated in the press release.

The bank has announced the date for its annual general meeting, which will be held on May 5, 2025, with the record date set for April 10 this year.
