Banking operation returns to normalcy from August 11 as the government looks to partially reopen the economy despite a surge in infection of coronavirus.

Banks had to cut opening hours in April this year after the caseloads of the Covid-19 began rising alarmingly, forcing the government to impose a countrywide strict restriction and lockdown.

The government is now easing restrictions from Wednesday to allow public transport to move for the first time in four months.

Bangladesh Bank issued a circular today saying that all the branches and offices would be kept open on Wednesday.

Bank transactions will continue from 10 am to 4 pm, said a press release.
