JP MP sued for Basic Bank loan scam

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) sues Jatiya Party lawmaker Mahjabeen Morshed, her husband and five others for allegedly misappropriating around Tk 275crore of Basic Bank.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today sued Jatiya Party lawmaker Mahjabeen Morshed, her husband and five others for allegedly misappropriating around Tk 275crore of Basic Bank.

Mohammad Sirajul Huq, assistant director of the ACC, filed two cases with Double Mooring Police Station in Chittagong city in this connection.
In one case, the JP MP has been made accused of misappropriating Tk 1.41 crore. The second case was filed against her husband Murad Ibrahim, managing director Crystal Steel and ship Breaking Ltd, for Tk embezzling 1.34 crore.
