Shams Mahmud re-elected president of Bangladesh-Thai chamber

Shams Mahmud, managing director of Shasha Denims Limited, has been re-elected president of the Bangladesh-Thai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BTCCI) for a two-year term (2025–2027).
The election took place during the organisation's 19th annual general meeting (AGM), held recently at Gulshan Club Limited in the capital's Gulshan, according to a press release.
Mahmud is a prominent entrepreneur in Bangladesh's textile and readymade garments sector.
He is also the managing director of Shasha Garments and Shasha Textiles, and a director of EOS Textiles Ltd, Track Innovative Technologies Ltd, and Fly Dhaka Airlines Ltd.
He serves as the secretary general of the Consular Corps Bangladesh.
He is a former president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), a former director of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), and a former vice-president of the Bangladesh-Philippines Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Md Munir Hossain, director of Vertex Group, and Hossain A Sikder, managing director of Kohinoor Leather Products Ltd, have been elected as senior vice-president and vice-president, respectively. Tanvir Ahmed of Sheltech Group has been elected director administration, and Md Ahsanuzzaman of Spectra Hexa, director finance, for the same term.
Md Salem Sulaiman of Massons Group, Razzak Sattar of Utha Group, Md Ashikur Rahman of TAD Sourcing, Anowar Hossain Manik of Textown Group, Chin Phuengsabchaikul of SCG International, M K Karim Antu of Pentagon Group, Ameer Chowdhury of ABC Group, Mahmud Hasan of Siam City Cement, Sumaiya Noor Chowdhury of KN-Harbour, and Hafiz U Biplob of United HVAC Ltd, have also been included in the new committee.
