Agami Fest 2025 celebrates education and empowerment
Agami Education Foundation (AEF) organised Agami Fest 2025 yesterday at Emmanuelle's Party Centre in Dhaka's Gulshan, celebrating its ongoing efforts to promote education among underprivileged children in Bangladesh.
The day-long programme brought together educators, students, donors, and well-wishers. It began with the national anthem, followed by a welcome address from AEF President Prof Nehreen Majed, PhD.
The "Agami in Action" segment showcased the foundation's journey and milestones through a presentation by Director of Programmes Fahima Shahadat, while Executive Director Monika Biswas thanked volunteers for their contributions.
Among the distinguished guests were Dr Yousuf Ali Molla, member of the University Grants Commission; Prof FA Sobhani, vice-chancellor of Eastern University; entrepreneur Faizur Rahman Khan; and researchers Dr Zeba Islam Seraj and Dr Abed Chowdhury, who lauded Agami's role in empowering students through education.
The event also featured cultural performances, testimonials from students and teachers, and messages from donors. Teacher Mizanur Rahman of Alok Shikkhalay, Sharmin Akter of Shapla Shaluk Pathshala, and student Tonima Akhter shared their experiences of AEF's impact.
A Science-Math Fair and Art Exhibition highlighted the creativity of students from Agami-supported schools. Alok Shikkhalay and Empyrean Hope School won the Science Fair, while Shapla Shaluk Pathshala topped the Math Fair.
The programme also included a volunteer appreciation and prize distribution ceremony. Actor Zahid Hasan joined the event and shared motivational remarks. Awards were presented by several guests, including Selina Shahjahan, Mahjabin Rahim Moitry, architect Hasnain Sabih Nayak, InterCloud CEO Md Hasibur Rashid, and Joint Secretary Reyasat Ali.
In her closing remarks, AEF Vice President Nafisa Khanam said, "Agami Fest 2025 reflects our collective journey and reaffirms our mission to create a better future through education."
Agami Education Foundation currently supports 21 schools across 12 districts, providing access to quality education for disadvantaged children.
