Agreement (MoU) between EDCL & Dyadic Int. Inc

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Essential Drugs Company Limited (EDCL), a state-owned drug manufacturing company under the Ministry of Health, and Dyadic International Inc, a US-based company, to increase the capacity vaccine production. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Mark Emalfarb, CEO of Dyadic International Inc, a US-based company, and Dr Ehsanul Kabir Jaglul, Managing Director of EDCL in the presence of The Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Zahid Malek, MP who was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
On the occasion, Health Minister Zahid Malek said that all kinds of cooperation including technical cooperation will be taken from this company, Dyadic International Inc which is based in the United States. Moreover, about 40 thousand crores of vaccine had to be bought during the Corona period around the world, but if the vaccine production starts in Bangladesh, many people will buy the vaccine from Bangladesh. That is why he announced today as a milestone.
Dr Ehsanul Kabir Jaglul, MD of EDCL said that the signing of this agreement will play a major role in increasing the capacity of vaccine production, quality control and research at the level of storage and use in the country. Moreover, by utilizing the country's resources, the vaccine production program in the country will be further advanced. Moreover, he said that vaccine production will start in Gopalganj very soon.
According to the proper instructions of the Hon'ble Prime Minister in this regard, the state-owned pharmaceutical manufacturing company Essential Drugs Company Ltd. (EDCL) has taken initiatives to increase the capacity of vaccine production, quality control, storage and usage in the country. Following this, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the US-based company Dyadic International Inc and EDCL to take forward the said activities based on the opinions received from various ministries/departments. Apart from this, representatives of US based companies, Ministry of Health, officials of EDCL and other guests were also present in the event.
