Bangladeshi student wins $5,000 IDP IELTS Future Award

IDP Education Bangladesh hosted its inaugural IDP IELTS Future Award ceremony, recognising the nation's top IELTS performers for their exceptional achievements and compelling personal stories.
Dr. Ashique Anwar Ahmed was named Bangladesh's $5,000 Future Award winner.
The global competition drew thousands of applicants from over 35 countries. Among them, three standout candidates from Bangladesh advanced to the final round, with one emerging as the recipient of the $5,000 prize.
In his winning essay, Dr. Ashique Anwar Ahmed pledged to pursue advanced studies abroad and then return home to drive social change. "Choosing IDP IELTS was easy," he said. "From comprehensive model tests and interactive webinars to the dedicated support of test-centre staff, every step empowered me to achieve my 8.5 score."
Areeza Afnan Mahmud, one of the three finalists from Bangladesh, shared her ambition to revolutionise the nation's healthcare landscape through infectious disease research. "My dream is to develop affordable diagnostic tools for Bangladesh," she explained. "This recognition fuels my determination to serve my community."
Applicants who did not win the top award may still apply for a Tk5,000 IELTS scholarship, open till May 30. Details are available at IDP offices or via IDP IELTS social media channels.
