Berger clarifies reports over its CFO’s name in loan default case

Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited has issued a clarification following recent media reports mentioning its Chief Financial Officer Sazzad Rahim Chowdhury, in connection with a loan default case involving a financial institution.

In a statement on Thursday, the company said the case concerns a period when Sazzad Rahim Chowdhury was serving in a leadership position at a different organisation in the telecom sector. "Mr. Chowdhury is not implicated in a personal capacity, and this case has no connection whatsoever with Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited," the statement read.

The company further noted that Berger maintains "the highest standards of financial integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct," adding that there are no allegations or concerns regarding any financial irregularities within the organisation.
