BRAC Kumon expands beyond Dhaka opening a centre in Savar

BRAC Kumon says it is reinforcing its mission to nurture Bangladeshi students into independent and resilient learners.

Kumon, the world's largest after-school learning programme, has opened a new centre in Savar, expanding its presence in Bangladesh.

The BRAC Kumon Savar Centre develops children's skills in mathematics and English while also fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, self-reliance and confidence.

Centre instructor Alma Siddique said: "As an instructor, my goal is to guide students so they are not confined only within the limits of school grades. I believe the true strength of the Kumon journey lies in helping those who struggle in the beginning gradually grow into capable and confident learners."

The opening ceremony was attended by Tasmia Persoob, Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations, Jahangirnagar University, along with representatives from BRAC Kumon Limited, parents, students and local educators.

Guests were introduced to Kumon's personalised learning approach, which has been used worldwide to help children achieve academic success and build lifelong learning habits.

The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and group photo with students and guests.

Kumon currently operates more than 23,700 centres across 62 countries.

With the launch of the Savar Centre, BRAC Kumon says it is reinforcing its mission to nurture Bangladeshi students into independent and resilient learners.
