BSCIC, DIU hold joint committee meeting to implement 2nd MoU
A joint committee meeting was held on September 18 at Daffodil International University (DIU) to implement the second Memorandum of Understanding (2024–2034) signed between the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) under the Ministry of Industries and DIU.
Md. Saiful Islam, chairman of BSCIC, attended the meeting as chief guest. The session was presided over by M. R. Kabir, vice chancellor of DIU.
From BSCIC, attendees included Shahiduzzaman, director (Skills and Technology), Khondkar Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, director (Marketing, Design and Handicrafts), and other senior officials. DIU representatives included Mohammad Masum Iqbal, pro-vice chancellor, Mohammad Nadir Bin Ali, registrar, as well as deans, department heads and other senior staff.
Discussions focused on joint initiatives such as skills development, research collaboration, micro-credential programmes, entrepreneurship support, industrial training and creating international opportunities for students. Key priorities outlined were providing proper training for student placement, enabling career growth in relevant sectors, and supporting industries with qualified candidates to improve productivity.
In his remarks, Saiful Islam said the collaboration between BSCIC and DIU would act as a strong bridge between academia and industry, accelerate innovation and contribute to Bangladesh's sustainable economic development.
