Chevron Bangladesh joins hands with Save the Children

The one-year programme covers children with disability aged between 0-18 years and their families, community members living in the project locations.

Chevron Bangladesh recently partnered with Save the Children to launch a programme titled "Integrated Support for Children with Disabilities" (ISCwD) at the district commissioner's conference hall in Habiganj, said a press release.

The one-year programme covers children with disability aged between 0-18 years and their families, community members living in the project locations.

The objective of this programme is to support children with disabilities to access to education, health, and development from mainstream service providers, minimise social stigma and prejudice for children with disability with the goal of improving social inclusion in the community and support the children and their families to enable them to learn and earn.

The "Integrated Support for Children with Disabilities" programme will run from March 2022 to February 2023 and would promote access to education, health services, development, participation, and well-being through inclusive approaches, which will help support the achievement of the UN SDGs.

The programme will support 300 such children and their families, community members living in the project locations, caregivers, teachers, 20 primary schools and 200 teachers, school management committee members, community people, local elite, and other adults.

At the launching ceremony, Habiganj Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Jahan was present as the chief guest. Besides, the civil surgeon, ADC (general), ADC (education & ICT), deputy director, District Social Welfare Office, district education officer, district primary education officer, assistant district primary education officer, district youth development officer, police inspector in Habiganj; and upazila social welfare officer of Nabiganj and Chevron Bangladesh Corporate Affairs Director Muhammad Imrul Kabir were present.
