EBL employees share experience of Mera Peak expedition

Under Eastern Bank's "Beyond Limits: EBL Conquering Mera Peak" five employees of the Bank conquered the Mera Peak mountain in Nepal.
The ascended the peak of the mountain (6,476 meters above sea level) on April 17.
To commemorate this exceptional feat, EBL hosted a 'celebration program and press conference' at its head office in Dhaka today. Members of the expedition team shared their exciting experience of challenging 20-day journey through treacherous terrain and extreme weather.
EBL Managing Director and CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar and other members of the Management Committee (MANCOM), who congratulated the climbers and handed over tokens of appreciation.
The expedition team comprised:
- Samjid Al Asad, Senior Relationship Manager, Corporate Banking Division
- Manaf Hussain, Associate Manager, Retail and SME Banking Division
- Sadik Ahmed Chowdhury, Associate Relationship Manager, Corporate Banking Division
- Lincoln Raymond Costa, Associate Manager, Credit Risk Management Division
- Md. Imran Hossain, Associate Manager, Operations Division
Speaking on the occasion, EBL Managing Director said, "This expedition is a shining example of what we at EBL stand for—vision, courage, and pushing the boundaries of possibility. We are proud of our colleagues who have shown the world that EBL not only climbs financial peaks but also the highest natural ones."
The team began their expedition on April 5, 2025. Before the expedition the Team EBL underwent rigorous physical and mental training to prepare themselves for the anticipated extreme weather condition and tough journey.
