Grand finale of National Policy Competition 2025 (NSU Chapter) held

Team TriLex was named champion of the competition, while Ink and Impact and The Litigation Wizards secured first and second runner-up positions.

The Grand Finale of the National Policy Competition 2025 (NSU Chapter) was held on September 18 at North South University, organised by the NSU Law and Mooting Society in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The event took place at NSU's Audi 801 as part of the Festival of Youth 2025, commemorating the first anniversary of the July Uprising.

The competition was designed to engage university students in policy, development and leadership discussions, offering a platform for young people to contribute to national policymaking.

The programme began with the national anthem, followed by welcome remarks from Prof. Md. Rizwanul Islam, Professor of Law and Dean of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences. Finalist teams presented policy papers before a panel of judges, showcasing innovation, research and practical solutions.

Chief guest Lutfey Siddiqi, special envoy on International Affairs to the Chief Adviser (Adviser Status), told the audience, "When we ignore the evidence presented for certain information and present it as if it were our thought, it can become misinformation itself."

Special guests included Md. Mahbub-Ul-Alam, secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Benajir Ahmed, Founding Life Member of the Board of Trustees of North South University. The event was presided over by Prof. Abdur Rob Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) and Treasurer of NSU, who congratulated the organisers for arranging the programme.

Judges praised the participants' depth of analysis, creativity and professionalism, highlighting the originality and real-world applicability of their proposed policy solutions.

Team TriLex was named champion of the competition, while Ink and Impact and The Litigation Wizards secured first and second runner-up positions.

In his closing address, the session chair congratulated the teams and organisers, noting the event's success.

The NSU Law and Mooting Society said the competition reflected its commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world experience, following the success of the country's first National Mock Trial Competition earlier this year.
