Hossain Khaled elected as chairman of City Bank

Hossain Khaled has been elected as new Chairman of City Bank PLC. 

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Board of Directors on Sunday. 

Hossain Khaled is a sponsor director of City Bank. He has served as the Vice Chairman of the bank for seven years. Additionally, he is a member of the Board's Executive Committee and Risk Management Committee. He also serves as the Chairman of the bank's two subsidiaries namely City Brokerage Limited and City Hong Kong Limited. 

Hossain Khaled, who also serves as Group Managing Director of Anwar Group of Industries, brings significant experience in finance and enterprise. He holds degrees from the University of Toledo and Texas A&M University, and has been a key figure in City Bank's executive leadership.

The appointment continues a family legacy - Hossain Khaled is the son of Alhaj Anwar Hossain, a co-founder and four-time Chairman of City Bank, and founding Chairman of Anwar Group.
