Huawei signs MoU to establish ICT academy at RUET

Leading global ICT infrastructure provider Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited has recently signed an MoU with Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) for establishing an ICT Academy there to create opportunities for the students to develop industry-oriented knowledge and ICT skills.

The MoU was signed through an event held at the RUET Vice Chancellor's office on September 13, 2022. This third ICT Academy in Bangladesh is designed to facilitate students with advanced ICT knowledge, equipping them with the necessary skills for the future, according to a press release.

In April 2022, Huawei inaugurated an ICT academy at BUET. In August 2022, Huawei signed an MoU to establish an ICT academy at KUET.

Prof Dr Md Sazzad Hossain, RUET VC, was present during the signing. Karl Yu Ying, country director of Public Affairs and Communications Department of Huawei Bangladesh, along with other officials from Huawei Bangladesh, were present at time, said the release.

Huawei will provide its enriched online learning platform with diversified courses to the students of RUET and its teachers will also get the opportunity to become Huawei-certified trainers at this academy, it added.

The trained RUET teachers will coach the students afterwards. 

Thanking Huawei for the initiative, the RUET VC Prof Sazzad Hossain said, "If the country wants to keep the growth engine driven by the ICT industry running, then we must take care of this young population. Realising this we have taken steps to establish an ICT academy in partnership with Huawei."

Previously we launched the ICT Academy at BUET and KUET and the results have been amazing. Huawei is delighted to launch the academy at RUET," said Karl Yu Ying from Huawei Bangladesh.
