IUBAT hosts its first International Sports Observation Week

Organisers said the event marked a milestone in strengthening cultural exchange and camaraderie among IUBAT’s diverse student body.

The International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) has concluded its first International Sports Observation Week, bringing together students from 15 countries for football and basketball competitions.

The three-day event, held from September 7–9 at the university playground, featured high-energy matches that showcased the diversity and talent of IUBAT's international student community.

In the boys' football final, Team B defeated Team C, with Somalia's Mohamed Omar Bulle earning both Man of the Match and Player of the Tournament titles after scoring five goals during the tournament. In the girls' basketball final, Team Yellow triumphed over Team Red, with Bhutan's Krisna Kumari Raika named Player of the Tournament.

The closing ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdur Rab and Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman, who presented trophies and medals to the winners. Senior faculty and staff, including Professor Dr. Momtazur Rahman, Registrar; Professor Dr. Utpal Kanti Das, Chairman of the CSE Department; and Sadekul Islam, Director of the International Programs Office, were also present.
