JCI Dhaka West organises painting contest
"Battle of Brush 5.0", a painting competition, took place for the fifth time under the initiative of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dhaka West, said a press release.
It is their signature event, and they have been successfully organising and celebrating it for a long time.
More than 200 able-bodied, physically and mentally challenged, underprivileged kids and teenagers from around 40 schools in the capital have participated in it.
Eastern University Vice Chancellor Prof Shahid Akhtar Hossain was present as the chief guest at the event.
Shathira Jakir Jessy, former national women's team cricketer and Bangladesh's first female international cricket commentator, was present as special guest.
JCI Dhaka West President Md Altamis Nabil was the convener of the event.
Eminent and renowned painters Mehedi Haque, Morshed Mishu, Reesham Shahab Tirtho, and Bishwajit Goswami judged the competition.
The chief adviser for Battle of the Brush 5.0 was Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan, secretary general of JCI Bangladesh. Md Tanvir Hasan, AK Azad Rafi, Muhammad Nayeem Akhtar and Sujaur Rahman Emon served as co-conveners.
The Daily Star was the media partner of the event.
Junior Chamber International, is a non-profit international non-governmental organisation for young people between 18 and 40, headquartered in St Louis, Missouri, USA. It has operations in more than 120 countries, and the total member count is more than 2,00,000 worldwide.
Currently, more than 25 local chapters of JCI are working in Bangladesh. Among these, JCI Dhaka West is the largest and oldest.
