Key private sector and state actors pledge solidarity to support human trafficking survivors

On 24th October 2022, Winrock International’s Ashshash project; supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, in collaboration with CSR Centre, organised a panel-based, multi-stakeholder, ‘National Policy Advocacy’ session titled ‘The Reintegration of Human Trafficking Survivors through Sustainable Initiatives and CSR Agenda of Private Sector’.

On 24th October 2022, Winrock International's Ashshash project; supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, in collaboration with CSR Centre, organised a panel-based, multi-stakeholder, 'National Policy Advocacy' session titled 'The Reintegration of Human Trafficking Survivors through Sustainable Initiatives and CSR Agenda of Private Sector'. The session engaged key stakeholders from the state and public sectors, as well as private sector organisations; to include human trafficking survivors in the 'National CSR Agenda' of Bangladesh, and ensure their reintegration into society and the nation's workforces. Three dedicated roundtable sessions were organized with the key industries in participants; Telecommunication, Banking and Finance, and the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sectors of Bangladesh, prior to the 'National Policy Advocacy' session. Key recommendations from each of the sessions were earmarked for consideration, and to initiate a process of 'National Advocacy' through policy-level implementation measures. The chief guest' at the event was AKM Mokhlesur Rahman, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh; and the 'Guest of Honour' was Ms Suzanne Mueller, Deputy Head of Mission and Director of Cooperation, Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh.
