MW Bangladesh presents Maya Bengal in Motion: Timeless Tagore

This year, the program embraced the theme ‘Timeless Tagore’, featuring dance dramas inspired by the works of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore

On the occasion of International Dance Day, MW Bangladesh magazine and Maya, natural wellness brand of Square Toiletries Ltd presented the second edition of Bengal in Motion, a showcase of the harmony between Rabindranath Tagore's literary works and the beauty of South Asia's traditional dance forms.

A key aim of Bengal in Motion is to offer a platform for local artists to showcase their skills and earn recognition, with a view to aiding the professional development of performers and artists, providing them with exposure to a wider audience that includes not just local supporters but also international dignitaries and potential sponsors.

This year, the program embraced the theme 'Timeless Tagore', featuring dance dramas inspired by the works of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The event sought to bring the universality of Tagore's literature alive for the audience, expressing his timeless melodies through the language of dance.

Held on April 25, at Aloki Convention Centre, the performances were curated by Anisul Islam Hero, Director of Srishti Cultural Centre. The evening opened with a performance by Anisul Islam Hero and Mehbooba Mahnur Chandni. 

The performances featured celebrated artists including Sadia Islam Mou, Sabrina Shafi Nisa, Benazir Salam's troupes, Samina Husain Prema, Anika Kabir Shakh, Tamanna Rahman and their troupes.

The event also featured insightful remarks from Anjan Chowdhury, Managing Director of Square Toiletries Limited, and Rumana Chowdhury, Editor and Publisher of MW Magazine Bangladesh.
The audience was deeply engaged throughout the program, joyfully celebrating the timeless genius of Tagore's creations.

On April 29, in celebration of International Dance Day, the program will be aired on Maasranga Television at 10:30 PM.
