NSU, University of Miyazaki inaugurate B-JET Center

North South University (NSU) and Japan's University of Miyazaki jointly organised the inauguration ceremony of Bangladesh-Japan ICT Engineer's Training Program (B-JET) Center yesterday at NSU's premises.
Dr Hiroshi Sameshima, president and professor at University of Miyazaki, was present as chief guest, and Prof Atiqul Islam, vice chancellor of NSU, was present as guest of honour, said a press release.
Md Golam Sarwar, manager (operation) at Bangladesh Computer Council; Yuji Ando, country representative of JETRO Dhaka; Hiroki Watanabe, representative (governance and ICT sector) at JICA Bangladesh Office; Yasuhiro Akashi, CEO/COO of Global geeks Inc/BJIT Inc, Japan; Sayuri Ogino, representative director of B&M Inc, Japan; Fumikatsu Honma, executive managing director of Shinko Shuppansha Keirinkzn Co Ltd, Japan; and Mutoshi Harada, director (tourism, commerce and industry department), Miyazaki City, Japan, were present as special guests.
Prof M Ismail Hossain, pro-vice chancellor and treasurer (in-charge of NSU, chaired the session.
Dr Sameshima said, "B-JET is a collaborative educational programme between NSU and the University of Miyazaki. I expect that this programme will make a bridge between Bangladesh and Japan and will contribute to both countries."
Prof Atiqul said, "The B-JET programme is a highly beneficial relationship between the two universities. Japan has a shortage of skilled ICT professionals; through the programme, we can export our skilled engineers to Japan."
Prof Mohammad Khasro Miah, director of Career and Placement Center, NSU, delivered the vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
Among others, deans, faculties, directors of various departments, department heads, senior officials and students were present at the programme.
