Philanthropist Sara Miller McCune contributes over $1,35,000 to AUW
Social activist, philanthropist and co-founder of SAGE Publishing Sara Miller McCune has contributed over $1,35,000 in cash to Asian University for Women (AUW).
SAGE is a global academic publisher of books, journals, and a growing suite of library products and services.
As a part of the cooperation, AUW has been granted unlimited access to SAGE's online library platforms, said an AUW press release.
"AUW is deeply grateful to Ms McCune, SAGE CEO Blaise Simqu, and SAGE for their continued support of the university's mission and work," read the press release.
"SAGE and I have long supported initiatives that spread the research and resources we publish into places where it can do the most good. I'm particularly delighted with this latest addition to a long-standing partnership that supports women in the academy," said Sara Miller McCune, who founded SAGE in 1965.
"Sharing these resources brings together so much of what represents the best of SAGE – supporting the development of engaged scholarship, providing wide access to research-based information, and reaching all learners, especially those who may have been marginalized in the past," said SAGE CEO Blaise Simqu.
