Like every year, Rotary International District 3281 observed World Polio Day on October 24.

To observe the day and to highlight Rotary's contribution in eradicating polio, Rotary Club of Dhanmondi Central organised a seminar on October 25 at Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity.

Polio is a highly infectious disease, mostly affecting young children, that attacks the nervous system and can lead to spinal and respiratory paralysis, and in some cases death.

Since 1988, Rotary has reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent. Ending a disease like polio is a massive effort and Rotary and its partners have committed to end this disease for last few years.
