State University hosts AI and IoT workshop to drive technological innovation
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the State University of Bangladesh (SUB) has organised a hands-on workshop titled "AI and IoT Revolution: Driving Innovation Beyond Boundaries", to equip students and researchers with the skills to lead in emerging technological fields.
The workshop was attended by academics, researchers, and technology enthusiasts to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are reshaping industries and driving global transformation in the digital era.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Mosaddek Hossain Kamal Tushar, Professor of CSE at the University of Dhaka, who discussed the pivotal role of AI and IoT in accelerating economic growth in developing nations. "AI and IoT are no longer futuristic concepts; they are today's instruments for achieving sustainable development and global competitiveness," said Dr. Tushar, encouraging students to pursue innovation-driven research.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Md. Akhter Hossain Khan, Vice Chancellor of SUB, as chief guest, and Prof. Dr. Nawzia Yasmin, Pro Vice Chancellor, as special guest. Both emphasised the university's commitment to preparing students for the Fourth Industrial Revolution by integrating practical technology education with research and industry collaboration.
Dr. Ahmed Hussain, Registrar of SUB, praised the initiative for nurturing a new generation of innovators ready to contribute to both local and global technological ecosystems.
Participants took part in hands-on demonstrations covering IoT device integration, real-time data monitoring, and AI-driven automation. The sessions focused on the practical application of AI algorithms in smart systems, fostering collaboration and experiential learning.
The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Sharmin Parveen, with Professor Dr. Pintu Chandra Shill, Chairman of the CSE Department, serving as the Guest of Honour. Both expressed gratitude to the keynote speaker and organizing team for their contributions.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from the organising committee, acknowledging the support of the university administration and the enthusiastic participation of students. The event reaffirmed SUB's mission to promote innovation, research, and entrepreneurship in emerging technologies.
