Winners of Daraz smartphone photography competition announced

The winners of the Daraz Presents Smartphone Photography Competition Bangladesh@50” were announced today.

The winners of the Daraz Presents Smartphone Photography Competition Bangladesh@50" were announced today.

The competition, organised by Youth Opportunities, was held at The Daily Star Centre in Dhaka, with an aim to celebrate the achievements of Bangladesh's 50 years.

Among more than 600 submissions, Md Abir Hassan became champion of the competition. He won a Dhaka-Cox's Bazar-Dhaka flight ticket.

Md Ratul and Aryan Hassan were the first and second runners-up respectively, and were awarded with gift vouchers. The fourth to tenth positions were also awarded with certificates. Besides all participants of the competition will receive an e-certificate.

Mahfuz Anam, editor and publisher of The Daily Star, was the chief guest at the programme.

AHM Hasinul Quddus Rusho, chief corporate affairs officer of Daraz, and Md Tajdin Hassan, chief business officer, The Daily Star, also attended the event.

Mahfuz Anam said, "I would like to congratulate those who participated in this competition and highlighted the major accomplishments of Bangladesh in 50 years through the pictorial stories."

"Bangladesh@50 was meant to carry the spirit of our country and its beauty through photographs. The vivid and diverse imagery of the land has been projected perfectly by our talented participants," said AHM Hasinul Quddus Rusho.

"I'm really pleased to see the thoughts of the Bangladeshi youth regarding the development of this country. The submissions portrayed their love for the country," said Osama Bin Noor, chairman of Youth Opportunities.

"Being able to portray the dreams and aspirations that Bangladeshis nurture deep within their hearts is a creative challenge. I'm amazed to see how beautifully the participants have pulled it off," said Tajdin Hassan.

The Daily Star and The Daily Samakal were official partners of this competition.
