Banglalink CEO Erik Aas elected as AMTOB president

Banglalink Chief Executive Officer Erik Aas has been elected as the president of the Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB).

The association took the decision at its board meeting virtually held on August 25.

Aas will be the successor to outgoing President Mahtab Uddin Ahmed and will serve as the president until March 2022.

"The telecommunications industry is a key contributor to the digitalization and development of the country's overall infrastructure. AMTOB will continue working with the government, regulators, policy-makers and many other stakeholders to ensure further developments of the country and our industry," Aas said in his instant reaction.
