Migratory birds throng Charol Beel, located in the Indian border area of Chapainawabganj's Gomastapur upazila. During a visit to the wetland, this photographer found rare bird species like Lesser Adjutant (globally vulnerable according to the IUCN), Ruffs, Black-winged stilt, Black-tailed Godwit, Grey Heron, Purple Heron, and Red-wattled lapwing. Bird watchers and nature lovers are, however, a bit frustrated over arrival of the lesser number of migratory birds in the area  last year compared to the previous one. Locals said a large area of the beel was used for irrigation and farming.
