HARVESTING TIME

Frmers spend busy time in the paddy fields at this particular period of the year to reap. April-May is the Boro harvesting season. Boro, the biggest of Bangladesh's three rice seasons - Aus, Aman, Boro - generally come with rice bounty for back-bending farmers. Boro contributes over 55 percent of the country's total annual rice output. The farmers have to carry out different post-harvest activities before taking their produces to the markets. With government slapping tax on cheaper rice import from India, Boro growers are now expecting good prices for homegrown rice.
