Land, Dreams Erode

As the floodwaters recede, sighs of relief are quickly turning into cries of anguish. Areas around the country affected by river erosion are on the rise. The destruction of crops and loss of homes of thousands pose problems that will not go away anytime soon. Beneath the watery graves, dreams and aspirations lie buried. The waters, hungry as ever, continue to swallow land standing in their path. These photos taken from Barisal, Chapainawabganj, Lalmonirhat, Munshiganj, Pabna, Patuakhali, Sirajganj and Tangail, show only a glimpse of the havoc being wrecked.
