The week-long National Industrial Fair, which began on March 31 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), successfully brought together the country’s entrepreneurs to showcase their products. Aimed at promoting locally manufactured industrial products to foreign investors, this first-of-its-kind fair has given a unique opportunity to local manufacturers. It also offered an opportunity for unbiased assessment of the country’s industrial progress. The 300 or so participants of the fair also got the chance to represent the country’s industrial ventures by covering all areas of the manufacturing sector. The fair successfully highlighted the number of female entrepreneurs in the country, with a staggering 116 women participants. A wide range of products, including motorcycles, ceramics, plastic goods, household goods, beverages, herbal and food supplements, electronics, fertilisers, sugars, metals, and cables were displayed at the fair.
