Dhaka city is losing its greeneries. Nevertheless, a number of birds still make their homes in this concrete jungle. With trees and open space vanishing fast, most of the birds have disappeared from the city. But a few have adapted themselves to the manmade environment. Most of the species that made their habitat in the city are scavenger birds, although other species are also found in the remaining wetland, parks and suburb areas.

Firoze Ahmed took these photos of Brahmini kite, black kite, Drongo, pond heron and common myna from different parts of the city.
