Vegetables For Nutrition Security

With the slogan “If you want to be healthy, have more vegetables”, the three-day National Vegetables Fair 2017 began yesterday at the Department of Agricultural Extension office in the capital's Khamarbari. A large number of people visited the fair. Many of them told The Daily Star that the vegetables being sold at the fair were much cheaper than in city kitchen markets and were of better quality as well. Vegetables of various types were put on display at the fair. The fair aims at promoting safe vegetable cultivation throughout the year to alleviate poverty and ensure nutrition security.
