Preventive team of Dhaka customs seized 14.33kg of gold bars and ornaments from two brothers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this afternoon.
The gold worth about Tk 7.16 crore was hidden in two specially made belts which were wrapped around their bellies, said Rezaul Karim, assistant commissioner of customs.

Acting on a tip-off, the team held the brothers--Mamun Khan, 40 and Murad Khan, 30—who landed in Dhaka from Singapore on a Tiger Airlines flight at 12:10pm.
“They are frequent travelers,” Karim added.
