Former district judge Amiya Bhushan Poddar has passed away of old-age complications on April 6 at his residence in Dhaka, said a press release.

Former district judge Amiya Bhushan Poddar has passed away of old-age complications on April 6 at his residence in Dhaka, said a press release.

Born in Habiganj in 1924, he joined the then East Pakistan EPCS (Department of Justice) in 1952. He was appointed as a district and session judge of the Noakhali district and later worked as the chairman of Chittagong Labour Court. Following retirement, he became famous as a labour-friendly lawyer, said the press release.
