Arms Case: Prosecution seeks highest punishment for Papia

The prosecution yesterday sought highest punishment -- life term imprisonment -- for expelled Jubo Mohila League leader Shamima Nur Papia and her husband Mofizur Rahman Sumon in an arms case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Abdullah Abu told the court that they have been able to prove the charges against the couple.

Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of the Special Tribunal-1 of Dhaka fixed September 27 for the next date of hearing.
