Blast near Dhaka police box: It’s not an attack, says DMP chief

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia says the “suicide blast” near a police box in Uttara “is not an attack”.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia today said the “suicide blast” near a police box in Uttara “is not an attack”.

“It is not an attack. The bomb was detonated when a youth was carrying it to handover to another person,” the DMP chief told media after visiting the spot.

A youth, aged around 30, who is believed to be a suicide bomber, blew himself up near a police outpost at Airport intersection in Uttara of Dhaka this evening.

He also asked to people not to be worried following the incident.
