Chanchal Nandi passes away

Prominent sports organiser, ex-footballer and referee Mrenalendu Nandi Chanchal passed away yesterday, while undergoing treatment in a hospital in Dhaka. He was 85.

An influential figure in Tangail, Chanchal was a teacher of the century-old Shibnath  High School in the town. 

His funeral was held at Rani Dinomoni Mohashashan at Kagmari in the town in the afternoon.

A wind of mourning prevailed across the sports arena and many other spheres in the district over his death.
