City polls: BGB deployment tonight

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will be deployed in Dhaka and Chittagong tonight ahead of April 28 city polls.

"A total of 100 platoons of the paramilitary forces—70 in Dhaka and 30 in Chittagong, will be deployed from 10:00pm," Mohsin Reza, BGB public relations officer, told The Daily Star.

Additional BGB members to be reserved to tackle if any untoward situation creates, he added.

The Dhaka and Chittagong city corporation elections will be held on April 28.
