Development of wards will be based on priorities

Chittagong city's Awami League-backed mayor candidate AZM Nasir Uddin yesterday pledged that he would give priority to the development of disadvantaged wards. 
Campaigning in Ward 1 (South Pahartali) and Ward 2 (Jalalabad), he said the last mayor, M Manjur Alam, allocated money equally to each of the 41 wards, and so these two wards "could not be developed" at the desired pace. "But I will give allocation on a priority basis."
He added, "I am assuring you of performing my duty with 100 percent transparency and accountability."
