Dhaka mayors get minister status

The two mayors of Dhaka city corporations are awarded the status of full minister, the mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation is given the status of deputy minister, according to a gazette notification.
The two mayors of Dhaka city corporations have been awarded the status of full minister.
The cabinet division issued a gazette notification in this regard today, said Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam.

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq and Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokon will now enjoy all the government’s facilities including salaries and others according to their present portfolios.
Besides, mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation Selina Hayat Ivy will now enjoy all the same according to her current portfolio.
The decision will be made effective immediately, said the gazette notice.
